FAQ

Q: How does home delivery work?
A: You place an order through our website. The next business day you’ll receive your order. When the order is delivered, the phone number entered as the “Billing Phone Number” at checkout will receive a text notifying you of the completed delivery.
Q: Where do you deliver?
A: Washington DC plus the following zip codes in VA and MD: 22205, 22202, 22203, 22211, 22201, 22207, 20815, 20910, 20912, 20783, 20782, 20710, 20781, 20722, 20710, 20781, 20743, 20785, 20784, 20737, 20852. If you can select “Free Delivery” on the checkout page then you’re good.
Q: Is there a pick up option?
A: If you live outside of our delivery area you can still pick up an order at our production space at: 2800 10th Street NE, Washington DC 20017.
Q: What safety measures are in place to prevent spreading COVID-19?
A: The coffee is brewed and growlers filled in a federal registered food production facility which is deep cleaned DAILY. This facility also supplies ready-to-eat meals to World Central Kitchen and everyone working in the facility wears a mask at all times. The same individual who fills the growlers delivers them, wearing a mask and disposable gloves. The growlers are not handled by anyone else once they’ve been cleaned and filled.
Q: How long does the coffee last?
A: Stored in a refrigerated keg or minikeg, the coffee has a 30 day shelf life. Once exposed to oxygen, the coffee degrades in flavor over a couple days, faster if it’s not kept cold. The refrigerated shelf life of the 32 oz growlers is 3 days. Every growler ships with a “Best By” date on the label.
Q: Does the coffee have the “nitro effect” in a growler?
A: The 1 gallon minikegs keeps the nitro effect for the entire life of the coffee. In our 90 oz minikegs, you’ll get the cascade effect for most of the pours. As the liquid level of the minikeg drops, the pressure drops and if you are drinking the coffee over several weeks you’ll notice the texture dissipate the more coffee you drink. If you drink the minikeg over the course of a week, it should keep it’s texture for 80%-90% of the liquid. The glass growlers are not delivered under pressure and so the texture dissipates fairly quickly. In our 2.5 gallon and 5 gallon kegs, you’ll get the full cascade effect for every pour.
Q: Do you accept growler returns?
A: If you leave your glass growlers outside the next time you’re expecting a delivery we’ll pick them up. You’ll get a 1$ coupon for each glass growler returned.
Q: Talk to me about subscriptions
A: Subscriptions are the best way to ensure a steady supply of our coffee. The subscription is billed when you place the order and the first delivery takes place the next business day.
If your subscription is for a 2.5 or 5 gallon keg, we will contact you the following day to schedule the installation of the kegerator. Lead time on these varies from 3-10 business days depending on what parts we have on hand.
Q: Kegerators?
A: Yes! They are like minifridges with a tap stuck on top:

Cute aren’t they? Dimensions are 15″W x 24″D x 33.5″H not including the tower which can vary in height. Our kegerators are installed with a gas tank inside plus a regulator to control pressure. All of this is set up by us, we also switch out the kegs on the subscription schedule so the whole unit is “turnkey”.
Q: Is your coffee nitro cold brew?
A: The coffee is brewed hot, flash chilled and infused with nitrogen as it’s kegged. The nitrogen preserves the coffee and gives it a creamy, velvet texture. We choose to brew the coffee hot to extract the full range of flavor, complexity, and sweetness present in high quality coffee. Our coffee is brewed in a custom-made brewer and the method is proprietary. It is technically neither “Japanese flash brew” nor “cold brew.”
